General Information

Test yourself and not your life with the Drug Alert Marijuana Saliva Self Testing Kit. This self-testing kit provides ease and convenience as you can self-test anywhere and get results in 5 minutes. The saliva kit provides 95.6% accuracy. The saliva self-test kit detects drugs that may be present in the oral fluid specimen collected through a swab taken from inside the mouth.

The Drug Alert Saliva Marijuana Kit tests for:

  • Marijuana THC Parent - Tetrahydrocannabinol

The Drug Alert test panel provides only a qualitative, preliminary analytical result. A secondary analytical method must be used to obtain a confirmed result.

Kit includes 3 testing units.

Directions

Do not place anything in the mouth, including food, drink, gum or tobacco products for at least 10 minutes prior to collection. Allow 20 minutes for testing and results.

Sample Extraction

Take the oral fluid collector (swab) out of the sealed pouch, and insert swab end into the mouth.
Actively swab the inside of the mouth for at least 3 minutes to collect oral fluid until the swab becomes fully saturated. Gently press the swab between the tongue and teeth to assist saturation. No hard spots should be felt on the swab when saturated. Note: Full saturation of the swab is very important to get enough oral fluid for processing, otherwise, a false or invalid results may be observed.
Take the collection tube out of the sealed pouch and unscrew. Remove the saturated swab from the mouth and place it into the collection tube. Press swab fully into the interior of the tube, draining the oral fluid from the swab. Then remove the swab, screw the lid tightly back on the collection tube, and discard the swab.
Gently shake the collection tube for 10 seconds, and then leave to sit for 10 minutes.
Test Reaction

Take the test cassette out from sealed pouch, and place on a clean and level surface.

Again, gently shake the collection tube for 10 seconds and snap the tip open, then transfer 3 drops of oral fluid specimen (approximately 120 µL) into the well of the test cassette. Start the timer.

Wait for the coloured line(s) to appear. Read results at 5 minutes. Do not read results after 15 minutes.

Apply a security seal over screw cap of the collection chamber and send to the laboratory for confirmation if necessary.

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
NEGATIVE: Two lines appear. One colour line should be in the control region (C), and another apparent colour line should be in the test region (T). This negative result indicates that the Marijuana concentration is below the detectable level of 15ng/ml.*NOTE: The intensity of the colour in the test line region (T) may vary depending on the concentration of 9-THC (THC parent) present in the specimen. Therefore, any shade of colour in the test line region (T) should be considered negative.

POSITIVE: One colour line appears in the control region (C). No line appears in the test region (T). This positive result indicates that the Marijuana concentration is above the detectable level of 15ng/ml.

INVALID: Control line fails to appear. Insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques are the most likely reasons for control line failure. Review the procedure and repeat the test with a new test cassette. If the problem persists, discontinue using the test cassette immediately and contact your local distributor.

Storage Temperature: 2 - 30 degrees C.

Warnings

A positive test result does not indicate the concentration of drug in the specimen or the route of administration.
A negative result may not necessarily indicate a drug-free specimen. Drug may be present in the specimen below the cut-off level of the assay.
The test does not distinguish between drug of abuse and certain medications.
