The safety release stops EPIPEN JR from “firing” or working.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eCheck your EPIPEN JR regularly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe EPIPEN JR Auto-Injector has a clear “viewing window” so you can see the contents.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDo not use EPIPEN JR if the contents:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eare cloudy or\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eare coloured or\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003econtain sediment or\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eif the “viewing window” is obscured.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThese changes indicate that the effectiveness of the drug product may be decreased.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eWhen the “viewing window” is obscured, the auto-injector has already “fired” and cannot be used again.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDo not use EPIPEN JR\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eafter the expiry date on the EPIPEN JR Auto-Injector and carton or\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eif the packaging is torn, doesn't look quite right or shows signs of tampering.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIf the EPIPEN JR packaging is damaged or it is past the expiry date, return it to your pharmacist for disposal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIt is important to regularly ask your doctor or pharmacist to demonstrate use with an EPIPEN JR Training Device.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eEPIPEN JR is effective as emergency treatment of a severe allergic reaction ONLY when used according to the directions in this leaflet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eGive WITH CAUTION to those who have\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ehigh blood pressure\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ethyroid problems\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ehigh pressure in the eye (narrow-angle glaucoma).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIf you have a thick-subcutaneous fat layer, there is a risk of the adrenaline not reaching the muscle tissue resulting in a suboptimal effect. In such individuals there may be a higher likelihood of needing a second injection with an additional EpiPen JR.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTake care also when giving EPIPEN JR to those\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ehaving an anaesthetic\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eor who have:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ediabetes\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eheart disease\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eallergy to EPIPEN JR\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ebrain damage.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eYou should tell your doctor or pharmacist if your child has:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003edepression, or is on medication for depression\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ethyroid problems, or is on thyroid medication\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eheart disease or high blood pressure\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ediabetes\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ehigh pressure in the eye (narrow angle glaucoma)\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003easthma\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eever had an allergic reaction to sodium metabisulfite.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDuring treatment, you may be at risk of developing certain side effects. It is important you understand these risks and how to monitor for them\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDo not use EPIPEN JR\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cul\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eto treat any other medical conditions including other types of shock unless your doctor tells you to.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003eif the solution is brown or contains any particles or cloudiness.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ein a child who weighs more than 30 kg unless advised by your doctor or pharmacist. EPIPEN is generally recommended for any adult or child who weighs more than 30 kg.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\t\u003cli\u003ein a child who weighs less than 15 kg.
