Ensure your foot is positioned correctly within the designated area.\n\nStarting Position:  Start with a slight bend in your knee of the leg you are stretching.\n\nThe Stretch: Slowly lean forward, increasing the bend in your knee, until you feel a stretch in your calf.  Avoid bouncing.  The deeper you lean, the more intense the stretch.\n\nHold: Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds.  Breathe deeply and relax into the stretch.\n\nRelease: Slowly return to the starting position.\n\nRepeat: Repeat the stretch 2-3 times on each leg.\n\nVary Stretches:  You can adjust the foot position slightly to target different areas of the calf and lower leg.  For example, turning your toes slightly inward or outward can emphasize different muscle groups.
